Tara Benmeleh

Meet Tara

Tara Benmeleh, mother of Max and Bodhi, channels her energy into creativity and intentional living. She is deeply engaged in the practices of tea ceremony, yoga, art, and jewelry-making—but above all, she devotes herself wholeheartedly to her family.

What is something that people would be surprised to hear about you?

I'm currently working on my second children’s book. My first, Gracias Madre—a bilingual board book about gratitude for Mother Earth—was published in 2021.

Name two things about your morning and evening routines.

Morning: I start with mouth cleansing—tongue scraping and brushing—followed by a grounded tea ceremony, and then I brush my teeth again to prevent staining.

Evening: I always bathe before bed and then mindfully moisturize my face and body as a nightly ritual.

What was the hardest mountain you had to climb?

Feeling good enough in everything I do. As someone who's detail-oriented and often perfectionistic, learning to let go and release things before they fee completely “ready” has been a humbling and empowering lesson.

How has motherhood reshaped you and the way you think?

Motherhood has taught me the value of planning ahead and being intentional with time so I can be fully present with my children while still nurturing my creative work. Finding that balance has deepened my self-care and helped me establish a rhythm that nurtures both my family and my passions.

How has nature influenced your life today?

Motherhood helped me remember that I am nature—a primal being deeply connected to the Earth. When my oldest son, Max, was little, we attended a nature-based mommy-and-me school program where we forest bathed every day. That experience deepened my reverence for the natural world and our place within it. It was through this program that I received my first tea ceremony, which revealed tea as a profound medicine for me. Today, I have the honor of sharing this beautiful plant in ceremony with others.

How can people get motivated to take better care of our planet? Any examples on a daily basis?

Eating more plants, blessing food in reverence to the Earth, planting your own food and supporting local farmers so we can cultivate land with life.

What do you feel when you wear a piece of Carolina K?

I feel deeply connected—to the artisans who handcraft each garment, to the Eartht that provides the materials, and to the spirit of creation itself. Carolina is a true artist, and her pieces are more than clothing, they are wearable works of art.

Three words that come to mind when you think of Carolina K:

Goddess. Musician. Artist.

Favorite place in Miami—and outside Miami?

In Miami: Vizcaya—it’s a fairy playground. Also, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, where I serve tea each month and feel deeply rooted.

Outside Miami: We have been spending our summers with my family in Ibiza and it’s truly a magical island.

What is your mantra?

"More tea!"
